Yaniv Lavon was in 1973 and currently is leaving in Kibbutz Bet-Rimon in Israel.
He received his B.Sc. degree in Animal Sciences from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Faculty of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Quality Sciences in 2002 and in 2004 he received his M.Sc degree. In 2011 he finished PhD - the topic of his thesis was: Mastitis-induced impairment of ovarian follicular functions in dairy cows.
In 1995 Dr. Lavon was responsible for reproduction, health-care and calf rearing of commercial dairy farm of Kibbutz-Afik, Israel and in 1999 he joined a cooperative dairy farm of an Agricultural school. A year later he joined the Volcani institute, department of animal science. In 2006 he worked at the cooperative dairy farm of Kibbutz Netzer-sirani and on 2011 he joined a researcher and a guide focusing especially on reproduction; mastitis and herd management.
In 2014 he became a DHI Manager and Researcher in the Israeli Cattle Breeder's Association and as of 2015 he is a Professional Manager and Herd Management Program Manager at the Association.
In both 2006 and 2008 he received a scholarship from the Israel Cattle Breeders’ Association. In 2007 he received a "Laper" scholarship and in 2008 he received the "Whole Organism" scholarship by the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture.
